Slow Burn

Some smooth 80s R&B from Chi City, watch for the hook. Apparently MF Doom sampled this (thanks for the tip Yona).

Remarkable Mayor on their Ps and Qs

An ill-ass track by Dirty Jerz rappers Tone Liv and B Stilt, who together are called Remarkable Mayor. Beat by DJ PhD (yours truly). We made the track about 6 months ago, and it is gonna be on their upcoming album, "Subject to Black Out!" Tone said he wants to shoot a video for it sometime soon too, we'll see what happens. More updates on these cats to come . . .

Tear The Rufus Off

Another dollar bin exclusive from Gee's. Probably the illest track on the album. Produced by Quincy.

Rufus featuring Chaka Khan "What Am I Missing?" (1979) MCA

A Nice little Joint that reminds me of some voodoo D'angelo Spanish-type joint, but minus the D'angelo...

"Finale" Rufus featuring Chaka Khan (1978) ABC

And the one everyone knows and loves

"Stay" Rufus featuring Chaka Khan (1978) ABC

Space Out to This

A nice little gem I picked up from Gee's Records in Stratford... only one bizzle! "I Will Leave You" is a great break-up tune (just went through one so I might be on this tip for a while). Big up to my man Gee for the sick deal--check his store if you are ever in Connecticut, it is legendary. Ripped from vinyl.

John Handy "I Will Leave You" (1977) ABC Impulse

Goodwill Hunting is Born

Welcome to Goodwill Hunting: your ultimate source for the dirtiest in raw Funk, Boogie, Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Reggae, Brazilian, Soundtracks, etc.

DJ/producers naturally have tons of vinyl lying around (much of it from second-hand dollar bins at spots like Goodwill), and so the site is born.  I also have some exclusive mixes, re-edits, hip-hop treats and beats to put up too.  When I have time I will post lots of goodies, and will do my best to keep the page current.

Goodwill or Matt Damon, please don't sue me.

Rice and Peace,

-DJ PhD
